Boycott Florida: State Guilty in George Zimmerman Acquittal
-->
I am the mother of an eleven year old "Trayvon Martin," and will do everything I can to protect him from the Florida boy's fate. Whether my son, or yours, can be hunted down with impunity by a psycho killer will depend on how we respond to George Zimmerman's acquittal. Eugene Robinson's column, Black Boys Denied the Right to be Young captures this moment with gut-wrenching insight.
Stevie Wonder has joined a rapidly growing boycott of Florida, telling a Quebec City audience: "I decided today that until the 'Stand Your Ground' law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again." I hope that everyone in this nation and abroad who believes in racial justice will do so as well.
Creators of the "Boycott Florida" Facebook page want state legislators to repeal the "Stand your ground" law that shielded Zimmerman from prosecution. The groups Facebook description reads:
1. DisneyWorld, Lake Buena Vista, FL Meg Crofton,
2. Publix Supermarkets , Headquarters: Lakeland, FL Tupperware Corporation,
3. Carnival Cruise Company, Miami,
4. Royal Carribean Cruises, Miami,
5. DHL Express, Miami,
6. Darden Restaurants, Orlando (Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorm Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Eddie Vs, Yard House, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52),
7. Lennar Corp, Miami,
8. AutoNation Autonation.com,
9. HERTZ, Estero, Florida,
10. Office Depot, Boca Raton,
11. Winn-Dixie Stores,
12. SteinMart, Jacksonville, FL,
13. Friend Finder.com, Big Church.com, Perfect Match.com, Amigos.com)
Floridian supporters of the campaign to bring Trayvon Martin's killer to justice can, at the very least, avoid taking their families to Disney World.
And bytheway, if you have no medical concerns about your blood pressure spiking with rage, then read Juror B-37's comments justifying Zimmerman's acquittal.

Creators of the "Boycott Florida" Facebook page want state legislators to repeal the "Stand your ground" law that shielded Zimmerman from prosecution. The groups Facebook description reads:
"Economic embargos and boycotts have worked to debilitate America's unjust laws like Jim Crow and alienate and starve countries like Cuba. A focused, targeted and public economic embargo of Florida-based corporations will force them to take a stand against Stand Your Ground in their own interests."The "Boycott Florida" campaign has adopted the symbol of Mickey Mouse with a red slash across his face to symbolize their message. The Walt Disney World resort tops the list of Florida businesses and franchises to "x" out of your vacation plans. The list of major Florida companies that depend upon your patronage and support and are being target for this boycott include:
