Spiritual CLICK WALKING Your Way to Health, Weight-loss & maybe even Inner Peace

Well, that's where spiritual click walking comes in. Buy one of those $9.95 clickers at Walmart or a sporting store, which runners use to count laps. Choose a mantra from whichever spiritual tradition offers you the greatest inspiration. My mantra, "Na-mu-myo-ho-ren-ge-kyo" is taken from the Buddhist Lotus Sutra. But you could choose a passage from the Bible, Qoran or any other holy book. "Mary had a little lamb" probably won't work, because this exercise in the harmonizing of mind and body will yearn for greater inspiration.
Put the clicker in one hand, and begin chanting your chosen mantra as you walk, depressing the clicker each time you've chanted the mantra to yourself. "Na-mu myo-ho ren-ge Kyo click!" Use whatever pace and cadence feels most comfortable.
Set a goal. Begin with 100 clicks a day, and increase it gradually to 500. Now why could something so simple have you making time in your busy schedule to walk one or two miles a day? The reason is that silently chanting the mantra frees our minds of mental clutter, doubts, anger, upsets, feelings of boredom. When we busy our conscious mind with a mantra, we liberate ourselves from judging and commenting on our surroundings. Suddenly we're free to bask in the moment to moment experience of living.
